Yesterday I wrote about the sort of questions my tics have been asking lately – during dinner with Leftwing Idiot and Poppy this evening they came up with another one:

Tomorrow people around the world will be celebrating St Valentine’s Day – since the Middle Ages it’s been the day to celebrate love and romance.

But people I know will be celebrating a something a bit different, something my tics have chosen to call: Alantine’s Day.…

Today’s been a great day. The weather may have been utterly miserable, but I’m in a buoyant mood.

I ran a training session for front-of-house staff at Tate Britain in preparation for an event we’re putting on in collaboration with them.…

The Winter Olympics started today, something that might well have passed me by had my tics not got involved, suggesting a flurry of new events:

“Down Hill Donkey Tobogganing.”
“Limbo Dancing on Ice.”
“Tiddlywinks in the Rain.”
“Duvet Diving.”
“Down Hill Freestyle Conga Slalom.”…

I’d been really looking forward to going to an event this weekend with Keir, but then three things happened that made it a bad idea.

First, Keir injured his back and wasn’t able to come. My friend Jess, who hasn’t supported me before, was up for taking over, so Leftwing Idiot and Will talked her through my support needs and care plan – I’m confident we’d have been fine if everything else had gone OK.…

Firstly, Happy New Year! I hope that whatever you did to celebrate was wonderful. I stayed at the castle and saw in 2014 with friends. Anything else would’ve been too much because I’m in quite a lot of pain from my locked-up hands that, despite a powerful mix of drugs, are yet to show any improvement.…

I’ve just settled down at Fat Sister’s after an amazing and relaxing time eating, drinking and opening presents. I spent the first part of the day with Leftwing Idiot and his parents before braving the stairs up to Fat Sister’s flat.…

In five day’s time the Queen will be broadcasting her Christmas Message to the nation. If you can’t wait that long, or if you’d like something a little different, here’s my brand new tic-inspired Christmas message. Every Christmas for the last three years I’ve shared a festive themed tic for each day of Advent. Tomorrow’s the 1st of December, when the run-up to the festivities begins in earnest, and once again I’ll be sharing a Christmassy tic on each day.…

Yesterday was Halloween, or as my tics renamed it:

“National knife a pumpkin night.”

Last night the nature garden at work hosted a spooky Halloween event. Over two hundred children and adults came down to the woods to take part in a terrifying quest.…
