Yesterday we said goodbye to Rachel – a sad moment in a happy tour. Today we said goodbye to San Francisco and said hello to Los Angeles.

We arrived in the late afternoon and the place was bathed in Californian sun. It really is very big, with huge roads snaking through amazing hills.

It seems like a very friendly city and it was exciting driving through places that I’ve grown up hearing about – Beverley Hills, Melrose Avenue, Bellaire.

My tics immediately took on an LA flavour:

“Santa Monica Lewinski.”
“Los Angeles, what’s your lamp-post to palm tree ratio?”
“Los Angeles or right angles? Choose.”
“LA, you’ve got so many stars you don’t need Lamp-posts.”

I can’t wait to get out and about and explore LA properly.
