Bed Space

It’s been a hard week for me from a pain perspective and I’ve spent a lot of time in bed as a result. During the day this all feels quite cosy, people pop in and out, and light pours in through my bedroom window.

Lying awake at night is less cosy and feels lonely. Last night I decided to tackle this darkness in a new way – I did some drawings.

The lumps and bumps of my bedding, cartoon star, my bedside light, a packet of pills, a cat cushion, and my emergency buzzer have all become features of my new bed-based landscape.  Drawing them somehow made them feel less isolated and the space more mine again.
