Grandma’s Wave

It’s just over four months since my gran died and today something arrived at the castle that made me think of her and that day again.

It’s a photograph by Ray Collins of a wave, suspended in motion so it looks like a mountain. I found these pictures online not long after my gran’s death and decided to get one as a way of remembering that day.

When I was little and living with her in Blackpool the sea played a big part in lots of the time we spent together.

This evening Nick the Framer (who’s been framing things for me for over ten years) dropped the print round for me.

It’ll soon join a collection of other prints on my bedroom wall, and I can’t wait to look up from my bed and see my gran’s wave.
