We got home from Edinburgh yesterday afternoon, and today I went straight back to work. It’s the final week of the Summer Playscheme and all the projects were busy with children enjoying their break from school.
As I wheeled past the huge queue of people waiting to come in this morning I felt very happy to be back. I’ve been a playworker for fourteen years and in that time there have been only a handful of playschemes that I haven’t worked on for the whole summer.
I had a lot of work to catch up on today but I managed to check in with each project, say hello to the children and staff, and enjoy the atmosphere.
It’s great to be back and catching the last of the summer – it’s definitely warmer down here than it was in Edinburgh.
