At 3:45am this morning I was woken up by my body jerking wildly about. The movements were so violent I fell out of bed and smashed onto the floor. My body continued to writhe and I could feel my eye rubbing hard against the carpet.
Fortunately Zoë, my night-time support worker, woke up quickly and came to help. But the damage was already done and I’m now sporting a rather dramatic-looking carpet-burn on my face.
Being ill is always horrible, but the effect it has on the frequency and strength of my ‘ticcing fits’ makes it dangerous for me as well as very unpleasant.
