There are a few words I find inexplicably funny, like ‘penguins’, ‘sand’ and more recently ‘salad.’ They’re all words I’ve started to find hilarious after I’ve taken my emergency medication for particularly bad ‘ticcing fits’. But my amusement doesn’t wear off with the drug, and whenever I hear or say these words again, I laugh uncontrollably.
While we were having lunch today Leftwing Idiot said how much he loved knowing he could make me laugh instantly just by saying specific words. He said he imagined good comedians must feel like this when they know their routines inside out and can predict the laughs.
I told him how much I like knowing my tics can suddenly make him laugh too, particularly because I never know when they will, so it’s always a joyful surprise.
