Lazybones

I’ve described the new muscle-relaxing drug, baclofen, that I’ve just started taking, and how it’s making a big difference to the ferocity of my ‘ticcing fits’. But I’ve also noticed that since I started taking it some of my movements have become floppier.

I went swimming this evening and found it much harder work than usual. My head kept sinking under the surface, which made Poppy and Claire who were with me understandably nervous. Even with the help of a float supporting my body I only managed half the number of lengths I did last week, and afterwards my body felt very tired.

But I was quickly reminded how much less painful baclofen’s made my fits while I lay gently wriggling on the changing room floor.
