Leftwing Idiot and Poppy headed off for a holiday in New York first thing this morning. I’ve just had a text to say they’ve had a smooth journey and arrived safely.

I had a smooth start to my day too, and arrived at work feeling unusually serene. This is because the carer my social worker has organised for me started this morning.

The carer’s lovely. I’d been worried it would be a different person every day, but she assured me that she’ll be my regular carer.

Having her help made getting ready for work much easier, and things which had begun to feel like an extreme sport, are now bit safer.
