I share an office with two colleagues who, on the whole, barely seem to notice my tics. However, today one of them had to move to the room next door because my tics were too distracting. She was totalling a series of numbers and was quietly counting out loud. I was counting a lot less quietly and much more randomly, “Forty-eight, sixty-two, I’m four, twoty-two.”
