Two Hundred Teenagers

Two of the projects I work for were spruced up today with the help of two hundred young volunteers who came to take part in a RockCorps event. These volunteers give four hours of their time in return for a ticket to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

It was my job to introduce our projects to the volunteers and welcome them. This meant standing on top of a two-metre high climbing rock, speaking with a microphone to two hundred teenagers I’d never met before. My tics could’ve made this a disaster, but it was fine. I kept it brief, didn’t swear and avoided throwing myself off the rock.
