At work today I had a ‘ticcing fit’. I lost all regular speech but my vocal tics continued. Much to my surprise and that of my colleagues a strange story emerged. Here’s my Tourettes-generated fable:

I’ve had issues with my bladder for a long time, but just over a year ago they intensified. Since then I’ve been seeing a specialist neuro-urologist (neuro-uro), and with his help things have got a lot easier – particularly at night, largely thanks to using catheters at the end of each day to make sure my bladder gets a good empty.…

My chest-banging tic has been around for almost a decade. When it began, my chest bruised a lot and I tried loads of different ways of managing it. I tried restricting the movement of my arm, Habit Reversal Training and padding my chest, but in the end the most effective solution was to wear padded gloves.…

My nineteen-month-old niece Bean can walk – she’s been able to since she was nine months old! Tonight, though, she decided to go back to crawling – not baby crawling but crawling aunty-style.

I’ve been staying with Fat Sister, King Russell and their young daughter Bean over the last few days.
