Yesterday I wrote that I’d been hanging out with friends, including Laura who’s eight months pregnant. What I didn’t mention is the new name Tourettes gave to her bump. I repeatedly ticced:

I’ve had a lovely day. I’d planned to spend it packing up the lair, boring but necessary. However it turned into a blissful afternoon and evening hanging out with my friends.

Laura texted to ask if I was up for joining her, Hannah, Emma and Emma’s sister Lucy for a wander round Borough Market, a Saturday food market near here.…

This morning I had my needs assessed by a social worker from the Physical Disabilities Team. She was friendly, listened carefully and took time to understand my situation. It was a relief to talk about the impact my tics have on my life with someone who could provide resources to help.…

It looks like another lovely day outside – I’m in the lair doing some organising and packing in preparation for the move in a few weeks. Leftwing Idiot and his dad are coming to help me in a bit.

I keep thinking about going to the river or seeing an exhibition later after we’ve finished, but I would need help to do this.…

I shocked Leftwing Idiot and Poppy earlier by ticcing, “Say what you see,” followed by the name of the things in the room they were looking at:

“Say what you see Poppy, light switch,” etc.

What freaked them out was that I wasn’t even in the same room, and my tics still managed to get it right.

My mum and I generally have a peaceful relationship, but out of nowhere this evening I started a series of tics about fighting her.

It was spilling out of my mouth much faster than Leftwing Idiot could write, so most of it got lost.…
