Waves of Worry
I consider myself to be a pretty calm and rational person, but it’s the early hours of the morning and I’m struggling to clear my mind of worries. This is after a day of being hit by waves of anxiety about the COVID-19 pandemic.…

This post is to address the COVID-19 outbreak and to describe what we are planning to do as a Company.
As a disabled-led organisation, our primary focus is to maintain the health and wellbeing of all our staff as best we can.…
As fears around the COVID-19 pandemic intensify, the pressure on many of the systems we take for granted has intensified too. Social media is full of photos of supermarkets with empty shelves and reports of people fighting for supplies.
In a time of uncertainty and tension, the urge to look inward at our own immediate needs is understandable.…
The world’s in the midst of a global pandemic and everyone is rightly being encouraged to practice good hygiene and to socially-distance themselves from others, limiting day-to-day physical contact to reduce the chances of passing the virus from one person to another.…
We’re on the eve of a big anniversary, but for me the end of this decade has special significance. Ten years ago, Touretteshero was born, since then everything’s changed, and I’ve become a radically different person. I’m a Londoner, this city is my home, and from as far back as I can remember, terrorism’s been something I’ve been aware of.…
As a child growing up in 80s London, I remember power cuts being a fairly regular occurrence. There was something scary but exciting about them, and I always knew where the candles were, just in case.
In my adult life they’ve been less frequent, and I definitely don’t have any candles on hand.…

I’ve been working in Belgium this week. When I got back to the hotel this evening after a busy day I glanced at my personal emails, and I saw one that totally threw me.
It was from the care agency I use for my essential and personal care requirements, saying:
“There are some updates in relation to the allocation of your weekend care.…
