When I got up to get some water in the early hours this morning I was ticcing a lot and I dropped down in Leftwing Idiot’s kitchen. My body was moving and twisting all over the place and I couldn’t get back up.…

Poppy and Leftwing Idiot got back from their holiday in New York this morning. On the plane home they’d been wondering about how many times I might have said “Biscuit” while they were away.

Little did they know that in their absence “Biscuit” had been replaced by “Bin.”…

Me. In the early hours this morning I got stuck doing the dying fish in Leftwing Idiot’s hallway. I was worrying about two main things as I struggled to regain control and get up:

1) The noise of my head banging on the floor disturbing his neighbours
2) Getting blood on his carpet

Fortunately I was able to get up reasonably quickly, and the tiny bit of blood wiped off easily too, so I needn’t have worried.…

I’m really enjoying living at Leftwing Idiot’s, but one thing I’m not crazy about is his carpet. It’s sisal, looks great and I imagine it’s very hard-wearing – but it’s rough. My skin is not appreciating the extra exfoliation it gets when I do the dying fish on the floor.…

Waiting for a train with Fran and Bunny the other day I was shouting, ‘Bomb!’ amongst many other things, and a policeman, who’d been standing nearby with some colleagues, came over to us.

Policeman: Do you think that’s a sensible word to be shouting?…

This will be my last night at the lair. It’s been my home for four years and I’ve enjoyed living here, but in the last six months it’s become increasingly difficult to manage the six flights of stairs because of my leg tics.…

This morning I went swimming. It was a test swim with a volunteer and the volunteer coordinator from Southwark Disablement Association (SDA). I enjoyed it and it seemed to go well so I hope it will become a regular event. I particularly liked feeling tired out by doing something other than just ticcing.

Leftwing Idiot and Poppy headed off for a holiday in New York first thing this morning. I’ve just had a text to say they’ve had a smooth journey and arrived safely.

I had a smooth start to my day too, and arrived at work feeling unusually serene.…

While I was having a shower this morning, I started ticcing intensively. For safety I always shower sitting down but the tics meant I’d slipped right down and I started what Leftwing Idiot refers to as my dying fish move. This pretty accurately describes the abrupt backwards and forwards movement of my body when I’m horizontal.…

I suddenly realised this afternoon that I needed to go to the bank but, although it’s only five minutes away, the prospect of walking there filled me with dread. It’s not a day when I have support at work so I had to go by myself and  inevitably I kept dropping to the ground.…
