Join The Team

Back in January we announced the exciting news that Touretteshero had been given a grant from Arts Council England’s Elevate Fund to develop and grow our team and the work that we do.

Our mission is to use Tourettes as a catalyst for celebration and social change – we want to be part of creating a more inclusive and socially just society for both disabled and non-disabled people. For us, art, creativity and humour play a big part in this process.

A group of people of all backgrounds and ages celebrate the moment after a confetti cannon has gone off at Touretteshero's Brewing In Battersea event.

But in order to do this successfully we need a General Manager to work with us to achieve our vision. Could this be you or someone you know?

This is a full-time role based in Peckham, London, and would suit someone who is organised, a good communicator, passionate about inclusivity and excited by disability culture. The General Manager will be part of a core team of six and will work closely with the executive and artistic directors. We’ve made a video about this opportunity:

We’re keen to receive applications from people with lived experience of disability and are open to flexible working or job-share requests. Our work premises are wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilets. We’re familiar with Access to Work and can support employees in the application process as required.

You can download a job pack and application form here. If you have access requirements or questions you’d like to discuss, please do get in touch: recruitment@touretteshero.com. The deadline for applications is: 12pm on Tuesday 14th April

One of the things I love about Touretteshero is that we get to work with loads of people and organisations across a wide variety of fields, from museums, galleries and theatres to playgrounds, schools and universities. Our working days are varied and because we’re a small team there’s lots of room to develop skills and utilise personal strengths.

Touretteshero started a decade ago – back then it was just an idea that Leftwing Idiot and I worked on in our spare time. It’s evolved in ways we could never have imagined, with lots of support from friends and partner organisations along the way.

We have exciting plans for the years ahead and finding a General Manager who shares our vision and is ready to get stuck in would be amazing. So please do share this opportunity with anyone you think might be good for the role – or apply yourself if you think it’s for you.
