Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

I can’t believe it’s 2017 already. It was on this day in 2010 that I first started writing this blog and I’d never have guessed I’d still be writing it seven years on.

I saw in the New Year in a lovely low-key way. King Russell and I went to meet Fat Sister at the hospital where she works. She was on call but got just enough of a break to join us on the top floor of the building to watch the fireworks over the river.

As London’s skyline sizzled with firework displays I was very happy to share the moment with King Russell, Fat Sister and her NHS colleagues.

There’ll undoubtedly be big challenges in the year ahead but I hope there’ll also be lots of opportunities to laugh together, celebrate, and make the world a better place.
