Spring Hops In

This afternoon I went over to the nature garden (one of three projects run by the organisation I work for) where I was greeted by a colleague who told me very excitedly that the frogs had arrived. This is brilliant news.

The frogs come to the garden every year to spawn, and for me their arrival marks the start of spring. They come in their hundreds and the pond becomes a sea of writhing frog bodies. It’s a very strange sight and the first time I saw it I was blown away.

Tourettes also marks this seasonal milestone with some frog-related tics:

2010 – “Seed pod, I Pod, frog pod.”
2011 – “I’m in the mood for soft porn and frogspawn.”
2012 – “Ribbit or Riot? Choose.”
