Everybody Needs Good Neighbours

Sometimes when I get on a bus it feels like every other passenger is disgusted by my tics and it makes me feel really uncomfortable.

Several times recently I’ve been rescued from situations like this by friendly greetings from people I know. It’s not just me who feels the relief of a quick chat – afterwards, the attitude towards me usually gets much warmer. I guess this happens because people see that I can talk about more than just biscuits.
