Botoxed

This afternoon I had a hospital appointment to see if Botox injections might help prevent my neck tics causing lasting damage. The doctor said they could help for simple tics like jerking my head back or blinking, but they wouldn’t be useful for tics that involved multiple muscle groups. I said I wasn’t worried about my blinking tics because they didn’t really have any negative impact, but I did get pain in my neck and was up for giving it a try for that. I didn’t expect him to do the injections there and then, but to my surprise he ordered the Botox from the pharmacy and got on with it, giving me four injections in the back of my neck. They hurt more than I was expecting but it was all over pretty quickly. Apparently it’ll take a few days before I feel the effect.
