To Camden and Beyond

I finished work late tonight and arrived home tired and wet. I’d been invited out by Ruth and was meant to be meeting her in Camden. But I hadn’t been able to find anyone to come with me and didn’t feel like making the long journey by bus and tube without help.

When I got back to the lair there was a letter waiting for me and in it was my new Taxicard. This is a London scheme that I became eligible for when my level of DLA increased recently. Taxicard means that I can make a fixed number of journeys a year by cab at a subsidised rate.

Tonight it meant I could go and meet Ruth without needing someone else to come too. I had a great night and I’m pleased that I’m now getting the same sort of help in my personal life as I am at work, so I can now be much more independent.
