This morning as I was walking back to the office with Left Wing Idiot, who’s working as my support worker, we came across a dead squirrel lying in the road. A vehicle must have hit it very recently because the blood still looked fresh. Apart from an injury to its head it was undamaged which was quite shocking to see. We walked on for a bit but it was clearly on Left Wing Idiot’s’ mind that we should do something about the body, so we went back and used a plastic bag to move it.

My constant squirrel tics had a special poignancy for the rest of the morning.
