This weekend was the Thames Festival. It ended this evening with the night time carnival along the river – one of my favourite events. It’s a lovely way to say goodbye to the summer. The costumes and floats are brilliantly creative and covered with lights. The grand finale is a firework display that we watched from the beach at the edge of the river. The display was beautiful, with my ticced commentary providing extra entertainment:

“Bang, bang, bang!”

“Happy Christmas.”

“That one’s going to go bang.”

“Boom, boom, boom, bye-bye.”
