Thinking about Adam

About a month ago I watched a documentary called ‘My Street’. It’s a Cutting Edge film by Sue Bourne about the street in London where she lives and the other people who live there too. One of Sue’s neighbours, Adam, had Tourettes. The documentary has stayed in my mind since I saw it. Adam allowed Sue to film him while he was experiencing very severe tics that prevented him from sleeping. These tics were similar to my own and watching him struggle with them has made me more accepting of my own problems with getting to sleep.

Adam’s story did not end happily. He was found dead in his flat some time after the film was made. What caused his death was not explained.
