I had the first of two leaving do’s today. I leave my current job next week so this afternoon I went to say goodbye to my colleagues in the Children With Disabilities social work team. I have worked closely with them but am based in a different building. We had an amazing lunch – everybody had made something and brought it in.

Sometimes people I meet seem surprised that I work at all. They expect that my tics are such a huge problem that no one would employ me. Obviously this would be discriminatory and I’ve generally felt supported in the job I’m leaving.
