Impromptu Audit
Last night I went to a local pub, The Rye Hotel. It’s a grand old building that sits opposite Peckham Rye Park. I’ve been there many times before but not since it’s recently changed owners and undergone a bit of a makeover.…

I’ve been wondering if I’d have the guts to write this post because it’s literally about my guts. I’m doing it though because despite it being personal and embarrassing, it’s also quite funny.
I had an upset stomach yesterday. As you’d expect it was unpleasant and made me feel ill.…
Yesterday I wrote about my tics getting involved in Poppy’s workout. This morning they were at it again, promoting wellbeing, and offering to help her get over a slight cold.
As is always the way, my tics took an unorthodox approach: with my middle finger stuck up I scanned it over her body as if I was doing Reiki.…
Poppy was doing an exercise video in the living room this morning, while I sat in the corner attempting to work on my computer. I found it hard to stay focused on what I was doing because my tics were busily cheering Poppy on:
“Keeping going.”…
I’ve been feeling sad this evening. I’d not planned to write about it, mainly because I couldn’t work out what I was feeling or why. But as I got ready for bed I was thinking about my day and I finally worked out that frustration and longing were at the centre of this sadness.…
I stayed at Fat Sister and King Russell’s last night.
As King Russell headed upstairs I said goodnight, and then ticced, “Half of my mother is in your bed.”
I could hear them chuckling at this in their room. It was a nice sound to settle down to sleep to, even if the sentiment of the tic was somewhat disturbing.
In the last week there’ve been a lot of changes to my support schedule because my regular team have either been away or unwell. To my surprise, it’s not been too much of a problem – I’ve had different people helping me at work and I’ve been hanging out with Fat Sister and King Russell a lot in the evenings.…
When I was with King Russell this evening I had a ‘ticcing fit’. It was the type of fit that makes my muscles tense up and become rigid rather than thrash about. King Russell managed to unlock one of my arms and he looked very pleased with himself as he straightened it out and tucked it under my body to prevent it bending up again.…
Last night I stayed at Bunny’s and we watched part of the Olympic Opening Ceremony with her parents. As usual my tics added extra commentary, shouting out suggestions and repeatedly squealing, “Amdram!” whenever an emoting actor came on screen.
There were a couple of points when my tics went into overdrive.…
Earlier, something Leftwing Idiot and I were doing at work overran by several hours. This left us both hungry and annoyed and as a result we got cross with each other. As we headed out to get some food I could tell he was fed up.…
