1000 Cuts - How Do We Protect Our Access to Work?
This time next week we’re going to be hosting a Knowledge Exchange event at Graeae in East London (and online). It will start at 10.00am and finish at 1.00pm.

Big changes are coming to Access to Work, and many disabled professionals – in the creative sector and beyond – are already feeling the impact. A Thousand Cuts will be an open, facilitated and inclusive conversation about its future.
We’ll explore what’s at stake, and how we, as disabled creatives, can respond to protect it, as we face a very real threat to our livelihoods and independence.
This is an opportunity for a majority-disabled group to talk about the impact of the cuts both personally and professionally to help us all think about collective action and resistance.
It will be a relaxed event with a chill-out space and access support workers on hand. We’ll have BSL interpretation and live captioning in person and online. Graeae is wheelchair accessible and will have a range of seating options including mats and beanbags.
In person capacity will be limited to 50 people including support workers and PAs but we’ll be welcoming more people on the Zoom livestream.
If you use Access to Work and are worried about the cuts, then this is for you. The session is already quite full so please do get in touch if you’d like to attend. It’s free but you’ll need to be on our guestlist: info@touretteshero.com
