Seek and You’ll Never Know What You’ll Find….in Harlesden

I’ve talked about the benefits of going swimming plenty of times before, about how much I enjoy feeling tired because of something other than my tics, and about how much easier it is having a ‘ticcing fit’ in the water than on dry land.

The post-swim sense of calm I get lasts for hours after I’ve got out of the water, but being this relaxed has unpredictable consequences.

This evening, after braving freezing conditions outside, Leftwing Idiot and I came back from the pool and I sorted us out with some dinner at his place.

He went and sat in the other room while I prepared the food and I immediately burst into a rousing ticced song that revolved around David Cameron, bears and Harlesden. Here are some highlights from this twenty-minute anthem:

Seek and you’ll find Cameron’s mind,
Not in his head, it’s in Harlesden.

Seek and you’ll find a bear’s piece of mind,
Wrapped in a bow in Harlesden.

Seek and you’ll find a sheep’s piece of mind,
Wrapped in brown paper in Harlesden.

Seek and you’ll find a donkey’s mind,
Shattered and broken in Harlesden.

Seek and you’ll find a teenager’s mind,
Damaged and bribed in Harlesden.

Seek and you’ll find a Cup-a-soup mind,
Locked in a cupboard in Harlesden.

Seek and you’ll find the world’s piece of mind,
Wrapped up and torn up in Harlesden.

Harlesden’s been coming up a lot recently for no good reason that I can think of. I’ve only been there once and that was a very long time ago. Perhaps it’s time for another visit. Who knows what I might find there?
