Castle Bouncer

I hung out with a new agency carer this weekend. She was new to me, but as it turns out, she wasn’t new to the castle.

While we were chatting she told me that she’d worked as a bouncer here when the castle was a pub, over fifteen years ago.

I was living in the area at the time myself but I never went into the pub. It had a reputation for being ‘lively’, to put it mildly, something that my carer confirmed.

It was interesting hearing her memories of working here and how it was laid out inside. The children at my work went through a phase last year of calling my support workers my bouncers so it was nice to think that today I had both rolled into one, a bouncer and a carer.
