Flight 82

This time last month Leftwing idiot and I were saying a fond farewell to Toronto after our visit there for The Republic of Inclusion. With the help of our hosts and the people at the airport we had a smooth and uneventful trip back. But there was one thing that stood out and caught my eye – and my ears:

It’s unusual to find large-scale sculptures in airports, and seeing this one made me wonder why – it was brilliant and added a lot to the space. It was also very echoey!

Unlike the anechoic chamber I visited at the end of last year, this monumental piece of art was designed to be as reverberant as possible. Naturally my tics rose to the occasion and, given our location, started bouncing around ideas for travel announcements.

It’s brought back a lot of happy memories and I’d love to go there again (but I’ll probably want to avoid Flight 82 if possible).
