The Party Chair

In a few weeks time I’m going to Shambala Festival – a brilliant, creative, music festival that takes place near Market Harborough. I went last year and had a fantastic time. This year looks set to be great too, with many of my favourite people already going or planning to go.

One of the most memorable moments of last year’s festival was my spontaneous performance with Captain Hotknives, a friend of Leftwing Idiot’s. This year we’re performing together again, but more formally this time with two slots booked over the weekend. I’m really looking forward to it although I’m a little nervous too.

One thing that’d been worrying me was my wheels. I’ve only just got my regular wheelchair back after it broke at the start of the summer, and I really don’t want to have waited all that time for it only to take it to a festival and break it again. So I decided to buy a used chair online.

The one I went for seems perfect for the job, and yesterday evening it became even more perfect when Poppy sprayed it gold. It’s immediately become known as the party chair and it definitely looks the part – Poppy did an incredible job:

I can’t wait to field test the party chair at Shambala. If you’re going to be there, I’ll look forward to seeing you. If not, I’ll make sure I update you about the festival, my performances with Captain Hotknives, and how well the party chair gets on. In the mean time I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some sun.
