The Arrival of Freedom

My long-awaited Freedom Pass has arrived. With this pass, disabled or older people can use London Transport for free during certain hours. This is brilliant for me because it means I can get off if my tics are making a journey too difficult or if other passengers are reacting negatively and I don’t feel able to sit it out.

In the past, making simple bus journeys could get very expensive because I’ve often had to change – breaking up my journey – and having to pay a new fare each time.

I’m also hoping that my Freedom Pass will indicate to drivers that I have a disability and that I’m not simply drunk or being deliberately rude. This should reduce the chances of me being refused access or kicked off, which has happened before. It will certainly give me a lot more choice.
