Balance

The report from my Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) assessment has arrived and I read it with interest. It gave an accurate overview of me and my tics. I was relieved to read that my mood was normal, and that I wasn’t found to be depressed or anxious.

The man who assessed me found me well adjusted to managing with Tourettes day to day, but recognised the serious impact tics are having on many aspects of my life. The report confirmed that HRT could help me manage them and he said they would offer me a course of treatment…if my PCT agreed to fund it.

I’ve already waited 17 months for the PCT to make a decision. I’m hopeful that a firm agreement is round the corner but I’ve felt that before, so I’ll keep pushing and reminding them I’m waiting.
