Asking for Help

Over a year ago now my GP made a request for me to receive Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT). I’ve been keen to try this option since I heard about it because it could help me replace some of my more damaging tics with ones that have less physical or social impact. My tics have been getting much worse and I’m injuring myself frequently as a result.

I’ve already written three letters to complain about the length of time it’s taking them to reach a decision in the hope of speeding things up. It’s been a frustrating process and my Primary Care Trust’s patchy communication is only adding to my exasperation.

This afternoon I called the complaints department of my PCT to find out what was happening with my request. I explained everything to the complaints manager and he said:

“What do you expect me to do?”
